Erin & Matt

Erin and Matt are a photographer's dream. They are easy-going, fun-loving, and photogenic. I had a lot of fun taking their engagement photos back in October, and I was honored to photograph their wedding. It was a fun day full of spring thunder storms, lots of laughter and of course, dancing.

Congratulations, Matt & Erin!

Show Us Your Christmas Cards!

I absolutely love Christmas cards, and I can't wait until the day that I have a family to brag about via beautiful photos. Until that day, I'm going to share my favorite Christmas card that I designed this year.

From Thanksgiving to Christmas is a busy time for photographers. The weekend after Christmas, I had 7 shoots, which is crazy for a hobbyist-wannabe-photographer. This past week, I did a last minute photo session for my friend, Sheryl. (Who is amazing in every way, in case you were wondering.) She has 2 beautiful girls, and we've been trying to schedule something for a while. We'd had something on the books 2 or 3 times, but it ended up being windy, cold, or rainy. Finally on Tuesday, we were able to get together and photograph the girls.

Towards the end of the shoot, it was getting chilly, so we wrapped the girls in a fur blanket, and it ended up being one of my favorite photos. I designed the card for her that evening, she sent it in to be printed the next day, and was ready to hand them out on our last day at work. Here's the card...

And here are a few of my favorites from the photo shoot while we're at it....

That's Sheryl in the middle. She's one of my favorite people. Seriously.

Snow Day

Yesterday was a snow day, so I took the chance to venture out into the yard and capture some snowy moments with my camera.

Big Kody loves the snow. He was all about running and jumping and digging.

Seriously, how cute is he?
My poor back yard has a lot of bushes that need some TLC, but they sure do look pretty in the snow.

I love capturing memories, details, and beautiful moments, so when I read about the December Photo Challenge over at A Content Housewife, I knew I wanted in. So for those of you following me on Instagram, expect to see some fun photos coming your way! Here is the list in case you want to participate....

Miss Natalie

Are ya'll ready for some cuteness?

Check out little Miss Natalie. She is so adorable & photogenic. Seriously, one of the easiest baby shoots ever. I put her in a suitcase, and she just grinned. I sat her by a random door, and she'd give me the cutest expression ever. It was perfect.

Seriously. Her chubby little legs are so adorable. And those eyes! Ugh, too much cuteness for one post.

Morgan's Maternity Photos

You all have met Morgan & Eric before....click here if you don't remember.

I work with Morgan, and we share birthdays, and we run errands together after school, and sometimes we go to Jose's for espinaca dip or Zio's for chicken cannelloni, but I have to say that I'm quite mad at her right now because she is taking the first quarter of the school year off to take care of her new baby. I don't understand how she thinks maternity leave is more important than visiting my office at the end of the day to vent about the crazy things that happen in education. I don't know how I am supposed to survive the beginning of the school year without her, but I guess I'll manage if I have to. (You better bring Jon Ryan up to visit often to make up for it, Morgan! Starbucks won't hurt either - hint, hint. )

Anyway, she makes a pretty Momma, and Eric makes a dashing dad to be. Take a look for yourself.

And yes, she is doing yoga near the end of the slide show. The two of us used to Jazzercise together, and I got a better workout from laughter than the class, so I can just imagine her doing maternity yoga! I feel like that could be a great SNL skit....

Curt & Liz

My Memorial Day weekend started off by shooting my friend's wedding. Liz and Curt had a beautiful ceremony by the lake and then topped the day off with a huge reception full of dancing and fun. I'm so grateful that I got to be part of their day.

Oh, and now that it is summer, I hope to be back to blogging because I know cousin Tracy is sittin' down in Arkansas just waiting for a new post.

My Christmas Craft

Sometimes I get ideas for projects, and I think through it, and then I decide that I should wait until a more opportune time to paint my table or rearrange my guest room. Then there are other times that I decide I should paint a door to use for Christmas decor instead of clean my house, go grocery shopping, or work on photos.

This is that door.

Yes, I should have used a level. Yes, I should have planned it out a little bit before just free handing the lettering. But I still love it.

In case you can't read it, it says...

In this home,
Christmas
is about
our Savior
laughing together
singing around the piano
Praising God
giving generously
showing compassion
sharing our joy
celebrating His birth
kissing under the mistletoe
blessing others
loving others
being kind to others
the manger
peace and hope
Family Time
Jesus.

It's Photo Season

I love autumn. It's seriously one of my favorite things, and one of the best things about it is the light. The way the sunshine filters through the trees and takes on the golden hue of the leaves is amazing. It makes for pretty pictures. Plus it's just before Christmas card season, so it works out well. I've been busy taking family photos, so I thought I would share some with you.

Kim's mom brought her shoes from when she was a baby. I love it.
